SUMMER STUDY TOUR TO THE PHILIPPINES

Sacred Heart, Tokyo, supports the Montalban programme

Over the course of this 11-day trip,
our students see the work of Mother Teresa's nuns,
visit a centre for Street Children,
see the ERDA (Educational Research and Development Association) in action,
admire the training in mechanics and electronics given at a technical high school,
and take part in the work of the St. Madeleine Sophie Foundation,
which educates adolescent school drop-outs,
so that they, in turn, can pass on the basics to younger non-attendees.
Our girls come back having seen many social problems,
but also many volunteers working in programmes designed to alleviate them.
